The U-288( )/U is a rear [panel] mount, jam nut receptacle with 12 fixed, solder pin (male) terminals. Typical applications are vehicle antenna matching units (MX-2799/VRC, MX-6707/VRC and MX-9446/VRC) for power and control circuits. Mates with U-290( )/U and *U-290( )/U-R.
The connectors in this category are a series of quick connect/disconnect, medium power [environment resisting] plugs and receptacles as specified in MIL-C-55243(EL). The connectors are intermateable on a specific basis (see below), and feature water tight, polarized, bayonet coupling connector bodies and 12 fixed solder (pin and socket) terminals.
